Mentioning search a few posts ago and how its being impacted by Social Media - and vice versa- I must admit I’m still amazed by the numbers of search features being developed everyday that enables marketers to get punctual - and free- insights on their brands, within ’social sources’, be it for micro-blogging like the Tweetscan for Twitter, for blogs like the new release of Trendpedia Beta version or for non-sources related digital X rays of consumers’ minds with crowdsourcing brand perception tools like the so called Brandtag (found via FutureLab). For this latest, the process is simplistic: visitors of this site are being asked to tag brands appearing on the screen (brands can also be added on demand). The backwards feature is also available: visitors can associate the brand they think matches selected tags.
Comparison can thus be done within a couple of clicks :
- Brandtag for Yahoo
- Brandtag for Microsoft
- Brandtag for Google
No hasty conclusions though: there’s no detail so far as how many people are participating and volume is most probably not yet there. But this is still a promising beginning.
Look tomorrow for tools fusing the 3 above: volume of conversations being categorised by and within multiple content sources and formats, revealing emerging trends and actual positioning from the heartshare of your audience.
